Inuit announced that they would be soon discontinuing QuickBooks desktop point of sale software. QuickBooks POS has been the customer’s favorite point-of-sale software for more than the last 20 years. Maintaining and updating such innovative product requires time and resources therefore, Inuit decide to discontinue its QuickBooks desktop point of sale 19.0 on Oct. 3, 2023. They also reported that they will not release any future version of the software nor sell it to new customers anymore.

The following services will also be shut down with the discontinuation of QuickBooks desktop point-of-sale software.

  • QuickBooks Point-of-Sale Payments
  • QuickBooks Point-of-Sale Gift Card Service
  • Mobile Sync
  • Store Exchange
  • E-commerce integration with Webgility
  • Support Plans including Live Support (phone, email, chat)
  • Vendor Lookup Service

The support plan for existing POS customers will be prorated and the remaining amount will be refunded. Existing QuickBooks desktop point of sales 19.0 customers can purchase additional seats, and hardware and opt for QuickBooks POS payments until Oct. 3, 2023.

Customers who want to use QuickBooks desktop POS 19.0 can use it till Oct. 23, 2023 after this date connected services, QuickBooks point of sales payments and gift card service will no longer work.
